EXHIBITION OF IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN EXCLUSIVE WATCHES

IWC Schaffhausen showcases its most special and exclusive timepieces.

Selection of limited edition IWC Schaffhausen timepieces
Every watch enthusiast would like to experience with their own hands the pleasure of getting a close look at the workings and manufacturing process of a watch. This privilege for the very few was enjoyed by the public attending the event held by Relojería Alemana in conjunction with IWC Schaffhausen.
From 26 June to 16 July, our most distinguished clients had the opportunity to come to our Puerto Portals store, in Calvià, to attend a unique watch exhibition where they were given the chance to admire the latest creations by IWC Schaffhausen, including exclusive Pilot, Portugieser and Portofino timepieces, belonging to their three main collections.

A mastery and technical expertise class

On 5 July, as part of the exhibition, the Flanigan restaurant was the chosen setting to hold an extraordinary event intended for the most exclusive clients, who had the opportunity to attend a watchmaking master class delivered by Relojería Alemana’s expert watchmaking technicians, Gabriel Navarro and Luis Navarro. In it, guests lived the enriching experience of taking apart and reassembling the movement mechanisms of a watch.

Likewise, the attendees benefitted from the presence of Nicolas Lannou, Global Head of Product Strategy of the IWC Schaffhausen factory, who explained how the firm’s main watch complications work. One of them is the perpetual calendar, a masterpiece of engineering designed in the early 80s by Kurt Klaus, IWC’s leading watchmaker, to integrate the Gregorian calendar into a wristwatch. Thus, his accurate mechanical programme, which comprises only 80 parts, displays the date, month, year, and moon phases.
The tourbillon, another of the showcased complications, is a filigree work of art that was originally designed to offset the gravitational error in pocket watches. Although the current role of this complication is mainly aesthetic, it is an incredible challenge and consists of 82 parts that weigh less than 0.5 grams.

Besides, the attendees enjoyed the unique experience of taking a close look at and trying on some of the firm’s most special timepieces, many of them exclusive boutique items. In this activity, they also had the privilege of relying on the guidance of a highly qualified expert.

The crown jewels of the collection were the limited-edition timepieces that included the complications mentioned above, six marvels of mechanics and design that would delight any watch enthusiast.
Likewise, some of the watches on display during the event are available in our catalogue, such as the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Top Gun, an exquisite creation designed for navigation purposes and the tool par excellence of modern-day explorers. Conversely, other pieces will only be available for purchase for a limited time.
As expected, the event was an outstanding show of the mastery and virtuosity that characterize each of IWC Shcaffhausen, magnificent creations. Furthermore, even though the temporary exhibition at our Portals store has ended, you can come to visit us to behold and admire the high technical refinement of these timepieces that we will be happy to show you.
